Bildraum (2020)
The photographic image plays a significant role in shaping public spaces as we know it. Cities are filled with messages and promises conveyed through photography displayed in urban areas. With advancements in printing technology, large format images are more easily produced and cities are now saturated with visual material. However, the abundance of photographic content makes it difficult to fully grasp its meaning. The photographs we encounter daily often go unnoticed and unrecognized. The "Bildraum" series aims to redirect the viewer's attention to the utilization of photographic images in public spaces and question the claims made by these images, as well as the potential for overuse of photography.
